PUTTING PENCIL TO PAPER

While I am recovering from my recent accident I am falling in love with all things crafty all over again.  Here are a couple of pencil drawings of my kitty and doggy, Mitsy and Bailey.  Didn't take too long to get the knack of it again and I'm thrilled with the results.  I look forward to framing these in the near future.

Recovering is slow but I'm getting there.  Bruising is fading but still a bit swollen and very painful.  Just waiting for physiotherapy to give it the once over and make sure its all healing as it should.

Have a great weekend

OUT OF ACTION

Afternoon all, still got getting the hang of this blogging nonsense yet lol.  I do have a very good excuse this time though.  A couple of weeks ago I had a nasty accident at work which left me with badly torn ligaments in my ankle and unable to walk.  So I've pretty much been on bed rest since then.

I have however discovered crafting, I know I live for crafting but I mean good ole fashioned crafting.  After a rummage in my craft cupboard I found wool, needles and patterns and I've knitted my first jacket.  Its been years since I did any now I cant stop.  I've started on a top also !!!!

I've also dabbled with parchment craft using Clarity Stamps Groovi System, love it so will do much more of that in the coming weeks.

Stay tuned for more of my grumbling and craft making.

OOOPS

Its been nearly a year since I blogged so I'd better explain myself.  I'm not very good at this blogging stuff, I find myself pretty boring so worry that others will too however I will have a go.

In the last year I became quite ill and I will probably need surgery later this year to sort things out for good (womens' troubles!!!).  I need to lose some weight before surgery so I've now lost over 5 stone, I'm feeling so much better for it and wait for it .......................... I enjoy exercise and healthy food!!!!!

Anyhoo I'm still here and still designing.  My lastest addition to my cd catalogue is a lovely cd called The Luxury of Time, it features that cute little pocket watch from Elegant Timepiece CD rom which was designed over 12 years ago!!!!  There are toppers and papers for all occasions with stunning papers to match.

I made this card using 2 different backing papers, one to cover the card and the other to add torn elements.  The topper was matted onto black card then gold card and finished off with a paper flower and some punched butterflies.

SANDCASTLES AND SUNSHINE

A little seaside treat this time.  I used the Embossibilities Lovely Lace DVD rom to create this flag effect backdrop for the decoupage which has been framed by a lovely doily frame in a matching colour.

LOVELY LACE

I love the look of lace but it can be almost impossible to stick it to a card!!!  The new Embossibilities Lovely Lace DVD rom gives you papers, doilies and ribbons to create stunning cards.

For the card above I printed out 1 backing paper and 1 sheet of doilies. I covered an 8" x 8" card with the backing paper and stuck a 6" x 6" square of white card onto the centre.  I very carefully but not altogether accurately!!!  trimmed round the two largest doilies and cut the full colour one into quarters to use them as corners.  I stuckthe other doily in the centre of the square and mounted my 3d decoupage onto it.  I used a butterfly punch to add some butterflies and and then added a large bow to the side.  This card would be lovely for a special friend or sister.

Cutting Crazy

NOUVEAU STYLE

I've owned a cutting machine Silhouette Quickkutz for around 5 years now, never quite got to grips with it but thanks to the new Silhouette Studio software my crafting has a whole new lease of life.

Cutting files are now available on my website for only £1.00 for 2 designs.  All cutting files are 100% original designs by me.  Different formats are available with more being added shortly.

CARD SAMPLE

Card sample created using my new Nouveau Style cutting file. I cut it three times in three colours and put the pieces back together some raised some flat. Added a gold mirri matt, a wee bit tartan ribbon (of course)  and an embellishment or two. The whole topper was then mounted onto an 8" x 8" card covered with a paper from my Nouveau Rose CD rom.

Floral Delights

Ken has been busy with the paintbrush again, this time he has created 10 stunning flowers that I have converted into toppers, decoupage and papers.

POPPY CARD

8 x 8 card covered with a stripey backing paper vertically and a horizontal strip added to the centre.  The topper was matted onto black card and a paper ribbon and bow added.  I then added a little gem and a sentiment to finish the card.

Waiting For Christmas

The sun is still shining which can only mean one thing .......................... more Christmas cards!!!!!

This one was created using my brand new Digital Downlod kit 'Waiting for Christmas'.
8 x 8 card.  I layered a backing paper with a punched border over 3/4 of it and added a large swirly silver peel off to the white area to give a bit of 'drama'.  The ribbon (believe it or not) is made of paper and is available on each sheet to match the topper.  A little trim of peel offs around the topper and a few 3D flowers finish the look.

Happy Crafting (or should that be Christmas!)

Dance yourself Dizzy

I've called this card 'Dance yourself Dizzy' because blogger keeps inserting the pic wonky and wont let me rotate it!!!

I created this little dancing dude using the Digital Download http://www.sharonduncan.co.uk/digital-download---cute-dancing-penguin---2-pages-14278-p.asp.

I made a little paper spring for him so he really does dance!
